BC Outlasts West Ottawa for 2nd Win

BC traveled to West Ottawa for an exam week game on Tuesday night.  Still down 4 players for various reasons, the Bulldogs had to call on sophomores Brandon Dinsmore and Al Lake to fill in the holes. Both were able to contribute in key minutes for the Varsity.  West Ottawa launched a tenacious full-court press right off the bat and BC struggled with making good decisions all night, finishing the game with 28 turnovers.  However, West Ottawa struggled with the tough zone defense employed by the Bulldogs and shot poorly while committing 20 turnovers of their own.  Down 8-5 entering the second quarter, the Bulldogs went on a 16 - 3 run in the 2nd quarter to lead 21-11 at the half.  The second half saw the home team capitalize on more BC turnovers and storm back to take a 28-25 lead with 1.8 seconds to go in the 3rd quarter.  Jordan Bylsma felt like hitting a buzzer beater for the second game in a row and launched a deep three under pressure that hit nothing but net as the buzzer sounded.  The 4th quarter was a seesaw affair but the Bulldogs were  able to take a 3 point lead with clutch free throw shooting down the stretch.  With 14 seconds left, WO appeared to hit a game tying 3, but the refs ruled his foot was on the line.  Jordan hit 2 free throws and the defense kept West Ottawa from any good looks from 3, sealing the 43-40 win.  On the way home, the Michigan fans on the bus also celebrated the 1 point victory over MSU.  They had plenty of energy to stay up and study for the following days exams.
